If you're a first-time cruiser, you might be wondering how getting off the ship works. One of the biggest decisions you'll make is what to do with your luggage.
Most cruise lines offer two main options: let the cruise line take your luggage off the ship for you, or carry everything off yourself.
Both have advantages and disadvantages, and choosing the right option can make your final morning much easier.

You may have to wait for your departure group. Depending on your assigned group, you could be among the later guests leaving the ship.
You must locate your luggage in the terminal. While bags are typically organized by luggage-tag groups, you'll still need to find your suitcases among everyone else's.

✈️ A Few More Disembarkation Day Tips From Enchanted Travels
Before you say goodbye to your floating home, here are a few things I always recommend:

-Review your charges before leaving the ship so you can address any questions while you're still onboard.
-Keep your passport or required travel documents accessible.
-Don't bury them in the bottom of your suitcase!

-Look inside the safe, under the bed, in the bathroom, and in every drawer. Don't forget your phone charger!
-Don't book your flight too early.
-Just because your ship is scheduled to arrive at 6:00 AM doesn't mean you'll be standing outside the terminal at 6:00 AM. The ship must be cleared before passengers can disembark, and delays can happen.
-Follow your cruise line's instructions.
-Every cruise line and port can handle disembarkation a little differently. Pay attention to the instructions provided during your final evening onboard.
